[NIRVANA]

Pennyroyal Tea, compact disc maxi-single and case, 1994 unreleased edition (GED 21907).
Matrix code: "SONOPRESS I-2211/GED21907 A 2." 121x140 mm; 4¾x5½ inches.

In November 1993, "Pennyroyal Tea," the ninth track on Nirvana's third record In Utero, was remixed by Scott Litt for the censored version of the record to be released in March 1994. The single featured "Pennyroyal Tea", B-side "I Hate Myself and Want to Die" (LP version), and a cover of Appalachian folk song "Where Did You Sleep Last Night (In the Pines)" (MTV Unplugged version). Set for release in April 1994, the CD was swiftly recalled upon Kurt Cobain's death earlier in the month. At the time of Cobain's death, only copies manufactured in Germany had been distributed. Retailers were instructed to destroy all dispersed copies, but some were covertly set aside, which make up the surviving copies in circulation.
